Islamic Poetry by Aieyesha Sonika

..:: BUT NOT IN THIS WORLD... ::.. [Written by: Aieyesha Sonika, Delhi, India]

Ya Allah...
what a mean world this is
people have made it a curse
but once it was bliss

nobody has time for others
they are not selfless anymore
whether they'll be there the next moment
it's not sure

so many hurt n lies
false love n broken promises
the heart is bleeding
with blood filling the crevices

as a child it used to be so beautiful
as time passed by
it became so ugly n dismal

now i wonder what dreams for life i had
everyone says- 'grow up'
it makes me mad

Ya Allah...
please accept my prayers
n forgive my sins
grant me heaven
where the real life begins

grant me true love
loyal friends
wonderful family
beautiful roads on which i can walk blindly

eat of the best fruits n praise You day n night
coz to be worshipped..
is solely Your right

i want to meet our beloved Prophet SallAllahu 'alayhi wassallam
living in this world
i have become so numb

please grant me my dreams impearled
BUT NOT IN THIS WORLD ...
BUT NOT IN THIS WORLD...

Islamic Poetry by Mohammed Bashar Shamshad

..:: Confessions of a Sinner ::.. [Written by: Mohammed Bashar Shamshad]

Idled around watching the TV
Keeping up with each song and movie
I kept on with each latest style
Forgetting that i will be soon on trial

I had been a good singer and a good dancer
Now Answerable, but unable to answer
Even though my Lord asked me to refrain
I did all that lead me to hell fire and pain
I see those smiling faces, their results in their right hands

Why was i following actors and stupid music bands
Why did I keep non mahrems as my friends
Why did I forget the rules and follow immodest trends
Why did I do stuff forbidden in my religion

I sadly stand now in the disbeliever's legion
Ya Allah I was a muslim yet I rarely did pray
I committed indecency and I went astray
I talked and mingled with the other sex

I lied, betrayed and made my life complex
I was a hypocrite, did good for fame
Ignored your message, when to me it came
The Holy Quran, I rarely did read

To all those warnings, I took no heed
I troubled my parents in their old age
Abused and Yelled at them in my vain rage
I lived for the worlds' luxury and its vain vanity

Late did I understand that it was pure insanity
I was given chances, which i took for granted
Now I have to reap what I have planted
I am responsible for this painful aftermath

I blindly followed on Satan's wrong path
Please don't throw me into the depths of hell
With fiery flames and each horrendous smell
Boiling water and pus to quench ones thirst

The Many Punishments, each worse then the worst
Satan mislead me to each wrongful desire
And lead me closer and closer to Hell fire
I walked on as satan misguided me and grinned

Ya Allah! I beg You for mercy as I have sinned
Forgive me for my sins and for being ungrateful
Forgive me for standing in league with the unfaithful
Forgive me and Make my soul pure and beautiful

Bestow mercy on me, You are the Most Merciful
I am Your creation, Your servant of humility
You are the Lord of the worlds, The One, The Almighty

Two Sea Meets But Not Mixes (Subhan Allah)

SUBHAN ALLAH! I posted a picture of two RIVERS meeting but not mixing. And now I post the Amazing Natural Phenomenon where the Baltic and North SEAS meet but DON'T MIX because of the differing density!

Fourteen centuries ago the Glorious Qur’an revealed this fact. Allah Ta'ala says about the two seas: •►"He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?" [Surah Ar Rahman, 55-19-21]

•►"And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition." [Surah Al Furqan, 25:53]

Undoubtedly this is an incredible sign of Allah!
Allahu Akbar! ♥

Story of Dawood Yasin [not a hadith]

At Maghrib (sunset prayer) as we lined up and the iqamah was ending, I looked to my left and saw a brother wearing very stylish sunglasses. He looked too cool for where he was. He and I were both in the front row, and what a blessed place it is. I could not stop thinking, “man, some people are too cool, even in the Masjid during prayer people have on sunglasses!”

I take issue with sunglasses in two instances, when they are worn indoors and at night. I am not judging anyone--or at least that is what my ego has tricked myself in to believing--as judgment is reserved for God alone.

However, what I think about myself and what is reality are two very different things. The prayer finished and I remained in my place reading a short litany. As I got up to pray two ra’kats (units) of voluntary prayer, and I saw “Mr. I wear my Sunglasses at night” doing something else that really caused me serious discomfort. This discomfort was different; it was more painful than the first. This pain was an internal pain, and it was now, self-inflicted. This pain was the direct result of all the ugliness that we read about regarding the blameworthy traits (envy, greed, lust, jealousy, pride, rancor and ostentation, to name a few) of the undisciplined soul.

The brother was humbly sitting with a large Qur’an open and reading with incredibly proficiency. And why was this painful you may ask? It was painful, because the large white pages from which the man was reading where not covered in ink. In fact, there was not a marking on the page that was visible. The brother was blind! He was reading a Qur’an in brail. He was doing something to bring himself closer to his Lord, just as he intended with his prayer earlier. And here I am, “Mr. I’m not judgmental” judging him. At that moment I felt like crying, I left the Masjid in pain, I beseeched my Lord for forgiveness over and over again! I know how far I am from God’s pleasure; I know that I am filled with shortcomings. But yet, my ego still believes in the hero-narrative it creates for itself to justify all of its ugliness and trickery.

I only wrote about this because I wanted to share a lesson with you. Take heed to the advice of not being judgmental. We do not know what its like to walk in another person’s sandals. Judgment is for God alone, and I ask Him to show mercy on this poor soul when it is judged.

People are asking how are others getting “Ramadan Ready.” For me its simple, it became as obvious as the sun at high noon. I am ready to leave my wicked ways, that is how I am getting Ramadan Ready.

This painful experience has made one thing very clear. My Lord has used a blind man to teach me to see! To show me, that it is I, who is blind, not the man reading the Qur’an. He used this man show me the evil that lurks just under the thin veneer of my self-proclaimed piety.

First task on my Ramadan Ready list…stop judging!
My Lord, I am blind, I call upon your grace, mercy and benevolence to help me to see. Amen!

Two River Junction But Not Mixes (Subhan Allah)

SUBHAN ALLAH!! This is the Junction of two Rivers, in Geneva, Switzerland. The 'Clear' one meets her 'Murky' sister. :)

In this incredible photograph we see the junction of the Rhone and Arve rivers in Geneva, Switzerland. The river on the left is the Rhone, which is just exiting Lake Lehman. The river onthe right is the Arve, which receives water from the many glaciers of the Chamonix valley before flowing north-west into the Rhone on the west side of Geneva, where its much higher level of silt brings forth a striking contrast between the two rivers.

The meeting but NOT MIXING of these two rivers is just like what Allah says about the two seas:

"He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?" [Surah Ar Rahman, 55-19-21]

Undoubtedly this is an incredible sign of Allah!

Story of Abdullaah ibn ‘Urwa ibn Zubayr and his grandmother

Abdullaah ibn ‘Urwa ibn Zubayr said to his grandmother; Asmaa bint Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anha) that:

►What was the condition of the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllahu 'alyhi wasallam) when the Qur’an was recited to them?’

She said ►“They were just like how Allaah described them: Their eyes shedding tears, and their skins shivering.” ♥
(Source: Zuhd wa Raqaaiq of Ibnul Mubaarak)

Allaah Ta'ala says, "Allâh has sent down the best statement, a Book (this Qur’ân), its parts resembling each other in goodness and truth, oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allâh. That is the guidance of Allâh. He Guides therewith whom He pleases and whomever Allâh sends astray, for him there is no guide." [Az-Zumar: 23]

REVIVE A SUNNAH ⇨ "DO NOT BE CRUEL TO ANIMAL"

Ibn Umar (radiyAllaahu 'anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, “A woman was punished because of a cat she had imprisoned until it died. She entered Hellfire because of it. She did not give it food or water while it was imprisoned, neither did she set it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 56, Number 689]

Prayer for Ummah

Ya Allah, help our brothers and sisters all over the world. Whether they are in Syria or Egypt or Africa or elsewhere, they are our brothers and sisters. Ya Allah, please give them tawfeeq and success and allow them to remember You in the best manners. Whether they are sick or poor or disabled or imprisoned, regardless of whether we know them or not, Ya Allah, you know them! Ya Allah, bless this Ummah, the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and guide us all to the straight path, now and always. Ya Allah, forgive our shortcomings, widen our future graves, and elevate our status in the Hereafter. Ameen!

Children Of Prophet Muhammad (Sm)

Prophet Muhammad had five children from his first wife Khadijah. One son, Al qasim died when he was still a baby, and four daughters: Zaynab, Ruqayah,Fatimah, and Om Kolthoom. The last child, a boy Abrahim was born 628 A.D. He was the only child born to the Prophet after Prophet Muhammad (may Peace Be Upon Him) knew that he was to be a Messenger of God. His mother was Maria, an Egyptian whom the king of Egypt sent to Prophet Muhammad (may Peace Be Upon Him) as a handmaid servant and Prophet Muhammad married her in 627.
Zaynab married her cousin Al'Ass Ibn Al-Rabeah. Zaynab had only one child who died as a baby. Zaynab died in 630 A.D.
Ruqayah was the wife of Othman Ibn affan. She had one boy who died possibly from an infection after a rooster pecked his eye. She died in 624 A.D. She died on the same day of the battle of Badr.
Om Kolthoom was also married to Othman after Ruqayah's death . She had no children. She died in 631 A.D.
Fatimah married Ali Ibn Aby Talib who was the cousin of the Prophet (may Peace Be Upon Him) and who later became the fourth Calipha. He died in 662 A.D. They had two sons, Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein and one daughter Om Kolthoom. Fatimah died in 632 A.D.
Al-Hassan was seven years old, and Al-Huseein was six when Prophet Muhammad (may Peace Be Upon Him) died in 632 A.D. The Prophet loved them very much. There were even some prophecies about them. Al-Hassan became Calipha in 662 A.D. He resigned after five months and passed his leadership to Mouawiah Ibn Aby Sofian. Prophet Muhammad Prophesied that a man named Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (Al-Mahdi), a descendant of Al Hassan, would one day work with the Prophet Jesus(may Peace Be Upon Him) to kill the Anti-Christ and establish an Islamic state. Al-Hussein died in 682 A.D.
Most of Al-Hussein's children were killed in the wars. Only two children survived after Al-Hussein's death. The daughter of Fatimah, Om Kolthoom married Omar Ibn Al Khataab, the second Calipha. She had a boy named Zayd. Zayd fought along with his uncle Al-Hussein, in the battle of Karbellah. The descendants of Al-Hussein and Zayd still exist today. Fatimah died a few months after the death of Prophet Muhammad (may Peace Be Upon Him). The Prophet prophesied that Fatimah would be the first of his family to die after him, and it would be soon.

A story of a Shaykh in the publication of a book

From an appendix in the publication "UPRIGHT MORAL CHARACTER: A Concise Guide to Attaining Dignified Islaamic Character" by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have Mercy on him):

The shaykh (may Allaah have Mercy on him) would not be pleased when people gave him special privileges due to his status.
Once, he was late for a charity engagement in Buraydah, and his driver was driving fast on the highway to get him there on time. On the way, their car was stopped at a police checkpoint. When the officer saw the shaykh in the car, he told them to proceed.
As they moved on, the shaykh asked the driver why they were stopped. The driver explained that he had been driving over the speed limit.
"Go back to the checkpoint," he ordered. When they returned to the checkpoint, the shaykh asked the officer why he had stopped them.
"For speeding," the officer replied.
"So then why did you let us go?" the shaykh asked.
"You were likely in a hurry and had something important to attend to."
"No!" said the shaykh, "How much is a speeding ticket?"
"Shaykh, there is no need…"
"How much is a speeding ticket?" the shaykh insisted.
"Three hundred."
The shaykh then handed the officer 150 riyals, and ordered him to take another 150 from the driver, and said, "Because he broke the law and I did not advise him," and he insisted that the fine be paid!

Junaid al-Baghdadi

Whoever strives hard against his lusts in Allah's Cause by means of repentance will be guided to paths of sincerity. We will never be able to fight our enemy in the outside except when we fight our enemies within ourselves. Whoever gains victory over himself will gain victory over his enemies, and whoever is defeated within himself will be defeated by his enemies.

Some Important Word for You

We sought four traits, but did not achieve them because we did not seek them from their rightful resources; we sought richness in money, but richness is in contentment. We sought comfort in abundant, but comfort is really in having little. We sought honor in good mannerism (not for the sake of Allah), but honor lies in the taqwa. We sought delight in food and clothes, but delight is in modesty and Islam.

Family tree of Prophet Mohammad (Sm)

Here I post a picture of family tree of Prophet Mohammad (Sm)'s family which is started from Prophet Adam (Aw).

Prophet Muhammad Quotes

In this post I would like to give an introduction to his beautiful character through a few Prophet Muhammad quotes for the benefit of those not familiar with them, and also as a taste of honey for those who are.

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Seek God

“Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Meditation

“There is a polish for everything that takes away rust; and the polish for the heart is the remembrance of Allah.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: The Golden Rule

“You will not enter paradise until you have faith. And you will not complete your faith until you love one another.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Non-Attachment

“The worldly comforts are not for me. I am like a traveler, who takes rest under a tree in the shade and then goes on his way.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Balance

“Conduct yourself in this world as if you are here to stay forever, and yet prepare for eternity as if you are to die tomorrow.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Seek Excellence

“Strive always to excel in virtue and truth.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Be Merciful

“Verily, Allah is compassionate and is fond of compassion, and He gives to the compassionate what He does not give to the harsh.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: True Wealth

“The best richness is the richness of the soul.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: Serve

“Who is the most favored of Allah? He from whom the greatest good comes to His creatures.”

Prophet Muhammad Quotes: The Way of Wisdom

“It is better to sit alone than in company with the bad, and it is better still to sit with the good than alone. It is better to speak to a seeker of knowledge than to remain silent, but silence is better than idle words.”

So we have to guide ourselves according to our dear Prophet (Sm). And if we can do that we gain both in "Dunya" and "Akhirat"

SACRIFICE OF THE LAMB :

Just as the Prophet (S.A.W.), and his companions landed from their rides, and
laid the loads down, it was decided that they would sacrifice a lamb for dinner.
One of the companions volunteered: "I will sacrifice the lamb." Another: "I will skin it." Third: "I will cook it."
Fourth: " I will...." The Prophet (S.A.W.): "I will gather the wood from the desert."
The group: "O Messenger of Allah, it is not becoming of you to discomfort yourself as such. You rest. We will be honored to do all this on our own."
The Prophet (S.A.W.): "I know that you are eager to do it all, but Allah isn't pleased with the slave who distinguishes between himself and his companions, and considers himself better than others."
Then he went to the desert, and gathered some wood, and brought it to the group.
